At the Club's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 17, John Durkin was reselected as Club president, or representative governor, following the results of the Board of Governors election.
Nine Members were elected to the Board, including four candidates (Michael Benner, Michael Alfant, Betty Butler and Alok Rakyan) for the first time.

The three resolutions on the AGM agenda were also passed.
Last Chance to Vote
Registered Members who have not yet voted can still do so at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) on November 17, from 6:30pm.
Voting takes place during the first 15 minutes after the meeting is called to order. Contact the General Manager's Office by noon on November 17 to vote by proxy.
Voting Members who fail to vote will lose their voting rights for 13 months and the ability to run in the next election.
The agenda includes the announcement of the results of the Board of Governors' election and the approval of the budget and proposals to equalize the dues of Non-Resident Members and adjust the dues of Overseas Members.
Year-End Member Events Set
The Club's Board of Governors has approved two free seasonal events for Members.
For a second consecutive year, Members are invited to wrap up the year with food, drinks and live entertainment at the First Friday: Member Bonenkai Celebration on December 4.
This adult event will be followed by the complimentary Family Christmas Show on December 5 and 6, featuring a yuletide-themed musical and buffet in the New York Ballroom.
"The Club had another exceptionally successful year and it's our policy to reward Members when we can," said Club President John Durkin.
Club to Honor Nishikori
The Club will honor Japanese tennis star Kei Nishikori with its Sportsman of the Year award at a ceremony on December 1.
Established in 1989, the award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to sport in Japan.
Nishikori is Japan’s most successful tennis player and was ranked fifth in the world at the end of the 2014 season, the year he qualified for his first grand slam final at the US Open. The 25-year-old has won 10 ATP singles titles.
"Kei's tremendous 2014 season was topped off with a trip to the US Open final and his first appearance at the ATP World Tour Finals in London, where the top eight players compete. He has qualified for the World Tour Finals this year as well. Kei's success has also launched a resurgence in tennis in Japan. His impact, especially in Japan, is immeasurable," says JoAnn Yoneyama of the Club's Culture, Community and Entertainment Committee, which selected Nishikori for the award.
Past award recipients include sumo wrestler Konishiki (1991), baseball’s Ichiro Suzuki (1995), swimmer Kosuke Kitajima (2005), golfer Ryo Ishikawa (2011) and Olympic hammer thrower Koji Murofushi (2014).
